Changelog
New updates and improvements to Assembly
Updates for 9/9
LinkedIn Historical Tags
We've made improvements to LinkedIn tagging - Assembly now remembers previously used tags on LinkedIn and surfaces those profiles on search. That way you can easily find frequently tagged profiles without having to search for their LinkedIn username every time.
Analytics Overview
We've added a new analytics overview page so that you can get a high level view of how all your accounts are performing, across channels. You'll be able to see how high-level stats like followers, likes, comments, etc. are changing compared to historical data for all channels.
Updates for 8/16
Assembly Draft Generator Launch
Exciting news! We've just launched a complete overhaul of Assembly AI.
We now have 20+ prompt templates (and counting) that you can use to generate social-ready copy in just seconds.
Examples include:
- Generating a LinkedIn post from a podcast transcript
- Generating a LinkedIn post for a fundraising announcement or company milestone
- Generate a Twitter thread outlining a new feature release
Try it out here today and let us know any questions or feedback.
Long-Form Tweets
Assembly now supports automatic scheduling of long-form Tweets! This feature is available now for any X Premium subscribers which allows you to schedule and post tweets up to 4000 characters through Assembly.
Here's how you can do it:
1. Log into your Assembly account
2. Open up a Twitter / X post
3. For any account that we detect is an X Premium subscriber, you'll automatically be able to draft Tweets greater than 4000 characters.
Updates for 8/6
Alt Text on Twitter
You can now include alt text on Twitter attachments, similar to the way you would on the native platform. Simply click the icon in the formatting bar to add a description / alt text to any of the images.
LinkedIn Asset Limits
We've made some changes to LinkedIn so that you can now:
- Post up to 20 images / GIFs in the same post (previously to be up to 9 images)
- Can post Images & GIFs in the same post (could only do a single GIF before)
Referral Program
We've officially launched our Assembly Referral Program. Know a friend that might be a good fit? Visit your referrals page here to send them a personalized link. We'll send you an Amazon Gift Card for each referral that signs up for a paid wrokspace.
Analytics Improvements
We've improved the analytics experience within Assembly so that changes you make on the selected account, as well as the analytics table will now persist even on refresh. This way you can set a default account that always shows up in your analytics dashboard, as well as prioritize the stats that you actually care about.
Updates for the week of 6/17 - 6/24
Instagram Location
You can now add the location to an Instagram post. To do so, go to post options for any Instagram post in Assembly, and click "Add Location". From there, you'll be able to add in the location for a post, similar to how you would on the Instagram app.
Public Access
We've been heads down over the past year working closely with 200+ modern GTM teams at Mercury, Clay, Runway, and more to build their dream social media and content workflow tool. We're excited to officially launch public access to Assembly - anyone can now sign up for a 14 day free trial.
Updates for the week of 6/03 - 6/10
Updates to the Calendar
We've added a visual change to how posts show up on the calendar. The two major changes are:
1. Scheduled and Posted posts now show a green and blue border respectively. This makes it easier to distinguish which posts are scheduled / posted vs. which posts are still just drafts at a quick glance.
2. Posts that are missing blocking approvals will now show a warning state on the calendar. This makes it easy to see what posts might not get posted due to approvals not being submitted in time.
Removing Users
We've updated workspaces so that you can now directly remove any users from the workspace.
Domain Name Change
We're excited to announce that we've migrated our website to https://meetassembly.com/ - moving forward, please direct any questions to hi@meetassembly.com
Updates for the week of 5/21 - 5/28
Cross-Posting Improvements
We're excited to have revamped the UX and flow for cross-posting.
There are two major improvements we're rolling out:
1) The ability to sync copy and assets across multiple cross post channels.
2) Improved UX where cross-posting is now controlled by the "+ Cross-Post" button instead of the right-hand sidebar.
Scheduling Improvements
Similar to cross-posting, we've also revamped scheduling so that it's controlled on the right-hand sidebar. We've also added in additional states like "Processing" so that it's clear while posts are in the process of posting.
Updates for the week of 5/6 - 5/13
Speed Improvements
This last week, we've spent time making significant speed improvements to the post pages within Assembly. Overall, these pages should now load much faster.
The improvements have cut down the average load time of the post page to less than 0.2s on average.
As always, feel free to email us at hi@meetassembly.com with any questions or feedback!
Updates for the week of 4/29 - 5/6
Webflow Scheduling
We're excited to announce scheduling capabilities for Webflow 🎉
With this release, users can now schedule posts for a future date and time to any Webflow CMS, whether that's a Blog Post or Changelog. Assembly also allows you to easily preview posts on Webflow as well - either on the live site (we'll auto-publish a preview and then take it down after 3 minutes), or within Webflow's Designer if you prefer to not publish to the live site.
All CMS options configurable within Webflow will also be brought into Assembly when you go through the integration process. That way you can also manage setting the tags, post date, authors, and other post options all from Assembly.
With the launch of Webflow scheduling, Assembly can now function as a source of truth for not only social media content, but blog posts / changelogs as well. Let us know if you have any questions - the feature is now live to all Standard plan subscribers!
Welcome! Moving forward, our changelog will migrate from our Slack Community directly onto our website here. Updates for this past week:
Post Defaults
If you're managing multiple accounts on a channel, you can now choose a default account for that channel within your Settings page. This will set the default account everytime you create a new post.
As before, you can still easily switch the account you're posting from manually directly from the post page.
Improved Emoji Picker
We've also made improvements to our emoji picker. We now surface recently used emojis, as well as general emoji categories + an emoji search.
As always, feel free to email us at hi@meetassembly.com with any questions or feedback!
